How to upload a config file

You may want to download a config file instead of starting from scratch. If you have a config file, it will be in a .img file format. Do not try to open this file directly. You will get an error about the file being corrupt. This is because the .img format is typically a mountable file for a computer.

Step 1: Open Chirp and Go to File -> Open and select the .img file.

Step 2: Plugin in your programing cable to your computer and then plug in your radio. Be sure that the cable is pressed tightly into the radio

Step 3: Turn on the radio and turn the volume all the way up.

Step 4: Click on Radio -> Upload to Radio and select your radio… Wait for it to complete
